Kiwi web series ‘Walter Wants a Woman‘ has been selected to screen at the Los Angeles Web Festival 2014. LA WebFest was the first festival for web-series in the world and the team (Rachel Choy, Jeremy Garland & Callum Butcher) are honoured to be involved in the three day festival. The festival takes place from the 26th of March – 30th March, 2014 and several episodes will be screened.
Walter is the only NZ web series selected for the 2014 festival.
‘Walter Wants a Woman’ is a web-series consisting of vlogs and dates. It stars Walter, an almost-30-year-old who has decided to start something he thinks he’ll be quite good at: dating. He’s never had a girlfriend before, but he has had a hug once! He has some interesting ideas about dating and really is quite hopeless when it comes to girls. Full of awkward tension, and plenty of cringeworthy moments, it’s a raw and hilarious comedy.
The team have also decided to make a second self-funded season of ‘Walter Wants a Woman’ in March and release it in late April/early May. While they don’t want to give too much away, the second season is going to be quite different – but still keeping the original charm and comedy from the first season.
‘Walter Wants a Woman’ has had nearly 10,000 views on YouTube and the numbers keep growing. This project is close to zero-budget and a complete labour of love, with the aim to make people laugh.
