The New Zealand Dance Company’s (NZDC) studio webisodes series gives you an insight into how their shows take shape. This series of webisodes reflect the creation of Rotunda, which was performed to great acclaim at Q Theatre, Auckland, in August 2013. Rotunda brings to life the world of the band rotunda as an iconic symbol of New Zealand community.

    The New Zealand Dance Company’s first full-length work is now in rehearsals. This webisode showcases the work in progress with a brief introduction from Artistic Director Shona McCullagh.

    Don McGlashan introduces the music and percussionist

    Three weeks out from opening night of Rotunda and Musical Director Don McGlashan introduces E Pari Ra, percussionist Chris O’Connor joins rehearsals and learns how to work around the dancers, while Rehearsal Director Rachel Atkinson provides an overview of the creation of Rotunda at this point.
